Used for different purposes, such as cutting of the gum, sutures or bandages. With smooth or toothed/serrated blades and pointed or beveled tips for specific different surgical purposes.
Spring scissors are mainly used in microsurgery. The handles end on flat springs connected by a swivel joint. The cutting action is achieved by pressing the handles together. When the pressure is released, the action of the springs opens the blades.
